Welcome to the official website of Chakib Hilali, Moroccan-born musician now based in the US.

Chakib plays many instruments, including keyboards, oud, violin, ney and percussion, and is also experienced in many different styles of Arabic music, including the debke dance styles of Lebanon and Syria, popular music of Egypt, the Khaliji music of the Arabian gulf, Tarab and Classical Arabic music, and of course, "Chaabi", the popular music of Morocco. Chakib also performs Rai (the new style of North African music which is fused with European music styles) with Rai singer Cheb Reda Ray.

Chakib can be hired to perform music for your special occasions, providing a group to suit the event, from a solo musician with keyboards, through to a full Arabic band. See the videos page for some examples. Chakib is also available for music lessons and workshops.
